Navigating the Projects Page

<aside> đź’¬ Your "Projects" page is the hub for all your ongoing, upcoming, and past projects. Let's dive into its structure and how to utilize it to manage your projects effectively.

Global Menu

At the top of your "Projects" page, you'll find the Global Menu which grants you access to various sections of your Notion workspace, such as Home, Tasks, Docs, Clients, Resources, Team, Yearly Planner, and Documentation.

Adding a New Project

Creating a new project is quick and intuitive. Here's how you do it:

  1. Navigate to the "Waiting to start" section under the Active Projects area. You will find a "+New" button at the bottom left of this section (as shown in the screenshot). Click this button to start the process of adding a new project.

  1. Once you click the "+New" button, an input field will appear. Type in your project's name in this field. For example, let's call our new project "Mobile App Development for Beta Solutions".

  1. After you've entered your project's name, you'll need to provide more specific details. Click on the respective fields to assign the Status, Project Owner, Dates, Priority, and Client for your project.

Congratz! You've now added a new project to your Notion workspace.

Project Views

Following the Global Menu, there are three main views that offer different ways to visualize your projects:

1. Active Projects:

Serves as your default project management layout, helping you to easily track projects that are currently ongoing. These projects are classified into three groups based on their status: Waiting to Start, Planning, and In Progress.

But that's not all there is to the Active Projects View! Three additional groups are available, hidden by default: Paused, Done, and Cancelled. These groups help you keep track of projects that are temporarily on hold, those you've already completed, and those cancelled altogether.

To access these groups, scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the dropdown arrow in front of “3 hidden groups”. This action will unfold the projects under the respective group, giving you a full perspective on all projects, irrespective of their status.

By hiding these groups when not in use, the Active Projects View ensures you're not overwhelmed with information, yet gives you the option to have a comprehensive view of all your projects, whenever you want it.
